As most of you will already know, direcetor M. Night Shyamalan put out his first ‘R’ rated movie The Happening. What most people are interested in with The Happening is just to found out what in the world is happening to cause such chaos. In the trailers you see crazy images and quick scenes of terror. If you judge the movie by the trailers is actually looks really cool and at the very least quite intriguing. The sad fact of the matter is that The Happening is downright gruesome and extremely violent on top of fairly poor acting, and an extremely crappy story. I really wanted to like this movie, but I don’t watch movies to see extreme violence…I watch them for cool stories and this one is pathetic. If you don’t want to spoil what’s in the movie then don’t read any further because I am going to tell you what is happening…no pun intended J . Ready for the movie in a nutshell? Ok! Basically, nature decides it is going to wipe out the human population by releasing neuro-toxin’s. Yes, all those cool trailers where you thought something crazy was happening…it was the trees. Scary eh? This movie is pretty much Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but much worse. Worst of all when ‘evil’ is lurking the wind starts to blow and you see the leaves moving. Nothing scares the crap out of me more than WIND! The characters in the story are really dumb and make poor decisions far too often. For instance, where would you go if nature was attacking the world and everyone around you was getting killed? Would you go hang out in the woods or a nice big field? I suppose it makes too much sense to get the hell away from any kind of plant by hiding indoors. The ending of The Happening is a huge eye roller as well and very typical of 80’s horror movies. It does the whole three months later thing where the characters who survive are living a normal life again but then it shows two bicyclists. One of them starts to get disoriented showing that the event is going to happen again, but this time in France. Wow that’s amazing huh? I thought the ending was going to have a crazy twist and not be something I could see by renting a 99 cent movie at blockbuster. The Happening is not happening. Watch it at your own risk.

Webcrunch is a wordpress blog that is about web design, SEO (search engine optimization), and making money online.  The layout of the site is really nice and easy to navigate. The colors are a nice dark tone with a vibrant header / logo. Having a header like the one found on this site really makes it pop out at you, and it really adds a nice touch. You never want to go with a theme thats nothing but dark…that is unless you are going for an emo goth kind of look. Anyway, the site is filled with a lot of useful information. Particularly about web design. I found numerous topics with really good tips for those who are looking to get into being a webmaster, but need somewhere to start. There are no ads or popups on the site at the time of this review so that makes the site much easier to view and will most likely bring back a large number of visitors. Overall it looks like a solid blog with a successful future ahead of it. As long as the content keeps coming…I don’t see this blog failing anytime soon.

It’s coming….a new Final Fantasy game is hitting the shelves in Decemeber 2008. Final Fantasy XIII is bound to be another hit title coming from Square Enix. Not many details have been revealed other than the game taking place in a futuristic setting, and a possible online mode! The main part of the game is setup like a traditional RPG, but as for the online gameplay..that is up in the air as far as I know. I do know the game will  be awesome. I have yet to play any of the games in the Final Fantasy series that has dissapointed me to the point that I hated it. Sure, I have had a few games that weren’t my favorites…but they were still very fun experiences. Final Fantasy XIII is bound to sell out pretty fast due to the large fan base so I recommend pre-ordering a copy from Amazon (you get free shipping!) or another distributor.

Lil Wayne has been around the rap and hip-hop scene for quite some time now, and he is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. The self proclaimed “best rapper alive” is now boasting his newest album Tha Carter III, which was released on June 10th 2008. Lil Wayne is possibly the most hyped artist in the current hip-hop scene, and we all know he is loving that. With producers like Kayne West and Swizz Beatz by his side it would be amazing if his ego did not grow any larger. The tracks on the CD are what you would expect from this talented artist. I am sure any fan will have this bumping in their car soon if they are not already. I enjoyed the CD and have quite a few favorite tracks I listen to.

This Incredible Hulk movie is truly MARVELous if ya get what I’m saying. Jokes aside this version of The Incredible Hulk is a vast improvement from the last one they released. Seriosuly. They really did a good job with this film. When you see the amount of detail they used on Hulk you will be amazed at how awesome it looks. They really stay true to the Hulk character we know from the comic books too. His classic smashing moves are definitely in the movie and the special effects are really impressive. The main fight between the two giant megalithic creations is quite a treat to watch. Talk about mass destruction! If you are a Marvel fan then you are most likely going to really love this movie. However, you don’t have to be a comic book fan to enjoy this movie. The action-packed slamming destruction mixed with a great story is enough to make any movie good. After watching The Incredible Hulk it made me really excited about watching the upcoming movies starring characters such as Thor, Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Ant Man.The comic book movie craze has been producing some awesome movies lately so lets hope it continues!

Ad-Aware 2008 is the absolute best anti-spyware protection software available, and the most trusted as well. I have been using Ad-Aware for years now, and I have found nothing else that can even compare to the quality of this software…especially for free. Pligg Beta 9 is a pretty useful script if you are looking to create a website that is like Digg.com or other sites that are similiar.  As you probably noticed Pligg is a lot like Digg….that is because it is basically a clone of the script. Pligg is an open source content management system (CMS) that does its job very well. Although there are a few bugs…the script is completely free to use. The only thing that will cost you is if you want a custom or prebuilt theme and extra modules that do different things. I used this script for awhile and I had quite a bit of success with it. However, I did sell my site off eventually because I just didn’t want to bother with the up-keep of it anymore. Plus, sites like digg are very tough competition and I don’t reccomend jumping in with them unless you are prepared to dig your way up…excuse the pun.

Rio Leo is a nice yet simple blog that is all about web design and technology. I found a lot of useful information here. There are a number of great tips about getting the right domain, choosing fonts, and getting cool icon sets for your page. The author of this blog definitely knows about web design. This is obvious once you begin to read the tips, news, etc. Particularly interesting was the authors portfolio page with all the past works in it. He is definitely talented and knows a great deal about web design. You can rely on this website to bring you closer to becoming a master web designer or a webmaster. I enjoyed what I read and even bookmarked the site myself. The writing content is quality, the layout is nice and clean, and there are no intrusive ads. All in all…this is a solid blog.

Goji Planet is all about an Himalayan anti aging product known as Goji Juice and GoChi. The site jumps straight to the point providing you with information about the products and how to order some. Goji Planet has a fairly simple layout, but gets the point across very well. You can learn about the benefits of Goji Juice & GoChi, and also watch a videos about it to learn even more information. The information is laid out nicely and is very informative. I personally make no guarentees about the products on this website, but I can tell you this isn’t a scam site of any kind. There are no ads, popups, or anything else that could distract or annoy the visitor. The site layout could be a bit more professional looking, but overall its a good site that has a good cause.

Genius Hackers is a blog mainly about computer and internet hacks. The blog discusses safety tips to keep yourself away from scammers as well as other tips and tricks that you can have fun with while using your internet browser, IM client, boost PC performance, etc. The layout of the site is very nice. I love the dark colors and the glowing blue that can be seen in the header. At the time of the review their are no ads on the site, but a spot for them to go once they get some site sponsors or begin working with an ad company such as Adsense. However, site is popup and spyware/adware free. The content on the site is great…especially for users who are not knowledgeable of such topics.  If you are already an advanced hacker then you may not find much that you don’t already know, but for the average computer user this site can be very helpful and a lot of fun. From what I’ve read this is not a site that will take advantage of you as most hacker sites tend to do. The site is fairly new (not even a month old), but I can see that the author will be keeping up with the blog regularly and establish a really cool site to visit. I wish Genius Hackers the best of luck and hope to see great things come out of this blog.
