Pligg Beta 9 is a pretty useful script if you are looking to create a website that is like Digg.com or other sites that are similiar.  As you probably noticed Pligg is a lot like Digg….that is because it is basically a clone of the script. Pligg is an open source content management system (CMS) that does its job very well. Although there are a few bugs…the script is completely free to use. The only thing that will cost you is if you want a custom or prebuilt theme and extra modules that do different things. I used this script for awhile and I had quite a bit of success with it. However, I did sell my site off eventually because I just didn’t want to bother with the up-keep of it anymore. Plus, sites like digg are very tough competition and I don’t reccomend jumping in with them unless you are prepared to dig your way up…excuse the pun.
